What model are you using? My 8900 sounds as good as my old iRiver which was a fairly high standard.

Try changing the sound settings, you can set sound enhancement and bass boost, this is what I've done and it has made a great difference.

I have the 8830 World Edition (silver) and everything sounds so foggy and distorted.

You might want to try getting a updated device. That one is fairly old.

If you can, try different file formats and cleaning away anything from the speaker. If that doesn't work, have you tried it with headphones? If the problem is still there you probably do need a new phone or a repair.

I know it's old, but I got it because I thought it looked the nicest lol. But it's probably just the phone then.

The 88xx series doesn't have very good speaker quality. None of the Blackberry's
really do, but the 88xx takes the cake.

I currently use the 8830 as well and when i first got it, i would constantly miss calls, emails because the volume was to low and was distorted. I updated my software about a month ago to 4.5. now the ringer is so loud i had to turn it down. try updating your software, and i think this will solve your problem.

What version of 4.5 are you running?

I would install 4.5.0.160, and use the CDMA file/folder from the 4.5.0.77/97 OS..

    Works like a charm
