    I downloaded the most recent updates from Verizon for my BB 8830WE---BlackBerry Desktop Software and BlackBerry Device Software (downloaded from the Verizon Web site), but I haven't installed them yet.

    Do I have to install the updates in any specific order?

    Also, does the Desktop Software include the Media Manager? I have seen some posts about people not finding the Media Manager in the new Desktop Software.

    I do not plan to download or use VZNavigator, so is it important for me to install these two updates? I want to keep my BlackBerry current, but it seems to be working well with OS 4.2.2.148 and Desktop version 4.2.2.12 (except for the frustrating too-soft ringtone and the not-so-great Web browser).

    Depending on where you might travel, the .148 to .176 update could be very important. See the "Firmware Update issues" thread.
