Hello everyone. I've searched the forums and come up with a few threads related to my question but I'd like to expand on it.

If the bb is in the holster and I hear a notification that I have a new message, I want to be able to pull the bb out and NOT have it automatically open the new message.

The responses I've read say there is no way to change this because the bb thinks that if you pull it out of the holster, you must want to see the message. I think this is a faulty assumption. I want to gauge the importance of the message by the sender and subject before I open it. If it's low priority to me, I want to be able to leave it marked as unread without having to do so manually. I think this should be configurable.

    • Are there any plans to change this in future OS's?
    • Has RIM previously gotten this feedback enough to pay attention?

By the way I have an 8830 WE running OS v4.2.2.176.

    Thanks so much.

Theres a couple things you can do, when your phone goes off leave it in the holster for a few more seconds (not sure the exact time) and it won't pop up. Or get a holster without the magnet, or rip the magnet out of the one you have.

Not Likely, probably not, and all you have to wait is 15 seconds.
