Need to replace lens
Hi
I dropped my blackberry 8830 and cracked the lens. Was wondering if anyone has replaced their lens before, and could give me directions on replacing mine. Thanks - 07-18-2008, 09:56 AM #2

That is for a Curve... but should be similar!!
You need the replacement lense, look on YouTube for a disassembly video... then good luck!
And Welcome to CrackBerry!!

you can get one on cnn.com too - they're only about $9 and they're easy to install.

it's a lot easier to remove the lens' if you remove the side rails. loosen the screws that hold the case together than remove the side rails. than remove the screen . the old screen is glued (or some sort of sticky stuff) in place but it will come off (may need a razor blade to cut the glue) than just use the glue strip and stick the new lens on...pop the side rails on tighten up the screws..That's it

no, you don't have to remove the case - just the lens. There are some videos on youtube that show you how to do it.
