hi all,

i got my verizon 8830 WE unlocked.....here's where i'm stuck...

i entered a ATT sim card into the phone, when i check the status on the sim card, it displays my phone number...when i place a call, it wouldn't work, it'll say "welcome to verizon, your phone number isn't registered..."

is there a setting i have to do to make it work with an ATT sim card???

You don't say where you are, but an unlocked 8830 will only work on European GSM frequencies. It will not work in the US on US GSM frequencies. The GSM capability is the "World Phone" capability. In the US, the 8830 operates on CDMA only.

I can't help you with the Storm. I have read numerous accounts of people using it on GSM carriers. I suggest you search the Storm forum. I think the answers will be easy to find.

i'm in the east coast...new jersey area... thank you for the info with the 8830... i checked the storms page...couldn't figure it out....

Almost sounds like a bad SIM card if it is not working in the unlocked storm. I would try it in an ATT phone to see if the SIM card is working properly.
