My bb memory keeps changing on me. I had 12 milliom bytes the other day and now I only have 1 million bytes which is 1mb correct?

I haven't installed any new apps and actually did a lot of those free memory up techniques. I bought a memory card which seems like a complete waste of money. I don't have any music or videos on the phone.

    Any ideas?

You are correct 1 million bytes equals 1 MB which is not good at all for normal function on a blackberry. Have you tried the Memory Optimization Procedure link yet?

Yeah i've done all those steps. Used crackmem and everything. Not really sure because my bb is pretty bare bone. All I have is google maps and the wall street journal app.

Memory cards only store media and documents, no apps. Use CrackMem or Shrink-A-OS to get rid of all unused/unneeded programs.
