So if I go to options security memory cleaner and go to enable and show icon on home screen the icon leaves after a few hours and memory cleaner keeps disabling itself even after I hit enable...what's up?

If you have upgraded to OS 4.5, the Memory Cleaner will be disabled every time you reboot your 8830. Under OS 4.2, it stayed enabled thru a reboot or a battery pull.

Thanks for answering this one, it had been bugging me. I just re-enable it. Luckily I'm down to one quickpull a day.

For the little good the Memory Cleaner does, I don't know that it's worth the trouble to keep enabling it. When I upgraded to 4.5 on my 8830, I quit bothering with it.

Thanks Jeff...thought maybe something was wrong...

But I did enable memory cleaning 4 hours ago and did not reboot the phone....it has disappeared yet again...

I've had the same thing happen on my Curve. You're not really accomplishing much by trying to leave it on, there's really not a lot of memory affected in those functions.
