Latest Software Version for 8830?

Hi Everyone!

I hope this isn't too stupid of a question:

What the latest software for the 8830 is?

I recently bought a PlayBook and want to try the Bridge-App, before maybe getting a personal BB (my company disabled Bluetooth via BES on my 9700).
Found my old 8830 (Battery is dead). So, before buying a new battery I was wondering if the 8830 could run OS 5 , thus use the Bridge app?

No, it cannot be upgraded to 5, no OS above 4.5 for the 8830, it doesn't have enough memory. Sorry.

Maybe purchase a used device on Craigslist?

Not the answer I was hoping for, but the one I expected :-)

I'll certainly check Craigslist and E-Bay now.
Much less embarrassing then asking people "Hey, can I borrow your phone for a while? I only want to check if I can access your personal mails and calendar okay :-D "
