Oh well guys... The op obviously just wanted attention. Let's not let him win by getting us riled.

Cb is still a great community... With or without posters like this.

Default Sorry to rehash

This looks very familiar (especially the blinking icon) to the google maps app that you can download for free from handango. I've never seen that options screen that he shows however . . . any body with at&t verify that's what the options screen looks like for at&t users?

On a GSM phone with GPS, that's what the screen looks like.

Google maps is using cell tower triangulation, not the GPS chip. That's why its a big deal, the guy is claiming that he has "unlocked" the GPS chip.

Let me guess, Google Maps is accurate to within 1700 meters?

On a Verizon phone, it doesn't matter whether you use "911 Only" or "Location On." Try it. You'll get the same results with Google Maps, typically 1700 meters, as MangoGT pointed out, because the internal GPS is not driving Google Maps.

Ok so that got my hopes up for no reason.

Related question why call someone like that a troll? I don't get it.

"Forum trolls" is a slamg term for those who intentially hijack a thread or post info to disrupt/deceive the members of the group, through false information.

I understand why he is disliked and what a troll is, just wondering why that term was picked.
