Help needed with BB8830WE + STARHUB BIS

hi to all,

i recently got myself a BB8830WE then only to find out that starhub cannot support or that's wad the blackberry advisor from starhub told me. HE said tat cos my phone is CDMA tat's why the phone cud not connect to the blackberry network provided by them. i called them up a few hours later and then they say that my data plan is actually activated one day ago. i got the person to check and she said she cud not see the online status of my bb.

I got the phone with my friend and he is using M1. Exact same model, but when his M1 plan activates, all apps like MSN MSGER, facebook were all pushed to him.

Starhub then told me to bring the phone down to their HQ for their experts to have a look.

i am currently considering 3 options now.

1) Have my phone checked up at the STARHUB HQ. hopefully everything works well from there.

2) Convert over to M1 and take new contract with them.

3) Buy a BB8820 as i heard tat starhub can work with tat model, but not confirm.

I am really desperate for enlightenment. please advise..haha

Is the 8830WE unlocked? If you have it unlocked it will take a SIM card, but it cannot be used in North America. If your carrier is in another country not in North America, and the phone is unlocked, it should work.

how would i know whether it is unlock or not?

i am actually using the phone already and the normal usage of the phone like calling and smsing is all ok. except tat i cannot detect the blackberry data network.

To verify your phone is unlocked, go to Options / Advanced Options / SIM Card. Type the letters MEPD. They won't be shown on the screen. If Network is Active, the phone is not unlocked. If Network is Disabled, the phone is unlocked.
