    Those are the power connectors for the cradle charger.

    Its for a charging pod, a desktop stand if you will. It is the same as the connectors on the back of the other devices at the base of the battery door.

    They are indeed for a cradle charger. I always thought they were in a really akward spot. The placement on the Curve makes much mor sense.

    Because the battery door design is totally different on the 88xx series then it is on 81xx and 83xx series BBs.
