Alright I've just about had it with my 8830. I have had it since about March and I continue to have problems with my internet capabilities
I know a lot of people occasionally go from 1XEV to 1xev, but at least once a day mine will drop down to 1x and will not reset until I pull the battery. Again this happens at least once a day. I've pulled the battery so much that my cover is starting to not stay on very well.
I really have a hard time believing that a new phone will fix the problem. It has nothing to do with my signal strength because it happens all over the country. I don't want to trade my phone in because then I will have some refurbished piece of crap.
Please tell me someone has a fix for this problem. I can't imagine I'm the only one.

I was a previous Verizon customer that had problems with a Treo 700wv. They gave me a NEW phone as a replacement--not a refurb. If you have only had it since March you should definitely take it back for them to replace it.
Well I guess I just need to take it back then. So I guess from the responses then nobody has this same problem? I wouldn't mind if it was once a month. Oh well.

Have you contacted cust serv? Your problem could be a software related problem.
PS; refurb phones are tried tested and proven, and often times work better than new phones.

I used to have that problem with my 8703e. If I was inside a building where I would get a 1x and left the building I would have the 1x for the rest of the day unless I pulled the battery.
I haven't had that problem with the 8330.

(I forgot which carrier...) but didn't a new OS update fix some connection problems? The *22899 is a fix but I always say check to see if you're OS is updated to the latest one.

I believe it was sprint users that were having dropped calls and the update was released for them.... Verizon just put out the same version a few days back...
I would try *22899 first like JRS said then if that doesn't work, try updating your OS from verizon....
I have had this problem, but it's only been a couple times since i've owned the phone....
