Not if you hadn't unplugged the phone before it got a chance to restore the backed up settings. Either that or you told it not to backup data and settings, including 3rd party apps, prior to the upgrade.
Yeah, when I updated my 8830 to the latest OS you can't backup 3rd party programs (had a few games and apps), you can only backup your contacts, messages etc. You just have to reinstall them again..

That's not correct. The OS Loader version of the Backup can backup 3rd party apps. You just have to make sure it's set like that.
