Default DM conflicting with BES

I'm about three weeks into my bb ownership and for the most part I'm loving it. Although I keep having the same problem come up and I don't know how to fix it. I'm on the BES through work, but I also use the desktop manager at home for adding ringtones and photos, etc. After adding ring tones at home, I noticed that the "send" option is gone when I try to reply to work emails. I also get numerous variations of the following email daily, about 10 a day:

"This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.

Any suggestions? My IT department claims that I can't use the DM if I'm on the BES. Could that be right? That would be very lame if I could not add ring tones and whatnot on a very expensive phone because its on the BES. Help.

You can use Desktop Manager if you're on BES. But, when you install it, you have to use the BIS option, and not BES, UNLESS the said pc is connected to the corporate domain. And, being that you're at home, it's most likely not, right?

Anyway, right now the device needs to be removed from BES, including the statistics, then readded. On your home pc, uninstall Desktop Manager, and reinstall, BUT, making sure to select BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) rather than BES...

Correct, I have the BIS DM installed on my home computer, and my outlook information is sent wirelessly to my BB through the BES at work. What I think may have happened is that I synced my contacts on my home computer, and then I was put on the BES at work. Somehow that's causing problems, according to my IT staff. When you say, "including statistics", what are you referring to? Do you think this is why I do not have a send option when I try to reply?

Maybe this will help: I can reply just fine using my gmail account on my BB, but not my BES work account. Also the repeated emails I receive from the BB network are addressed to my gmail account. Thanks for your help.
