I'm getting a 8830 World Edition and have 2000 names, addresses, etc in my Outlook Address Book that I will sync to my new 8830. Most of my business contacts have a company name listed and will I be able to look up the company name first? I don't know all of the individual names and hope I can look up the company name first and then find the individuals name, phone number, email, etc.

Also, by first name or last name, or which ever category you choose.

Yes, it is very easy to find the contact you are looking for in many ways. However, I'm not sure just how many contacts it will hold. I have 172 in mine. 2000 would take up a lot of memory. Are they stored in the on board memory or can they be stored on the mini sd card?

I believe all the contacts are stored on the phone itself. 2000 is a lot, but it sounds like it's more of a business phone, so I would imagine not many 3rd party apps will be installed, that also take up phone memory.
