    how come i can't open any attachments in email i receive? shouldn't i at least be able to open picture attachments?

    is it possible?

    Yes, check this:

    Options > Advanced Options > Applications > press trackball > highlight BB Atachment Service > menu key > Edit Default Permissions > Allow - Connections, Interactions & User Data
