    Hello:

I am currently travelling in Europe with my 8830 and a gosim.com card I purchased just before thr trip. FYI, the phone is unlocked. I used a local SIM during my travel the last time.

Each time I try to make a call out using the gosim card, I get a recorded message saying that, "Call Barring is active. Please deactivate it to make a call." Is this on the service provider's side or something to do with the phone?

    Please help.

    Thank you,
    Arun

i had the same problem in italy and france... i just ended up getting an orange card like when i was in the UK, i just talked to gosim and they had no idea what the problem was... one of the people i spoke to mentioned something about a special menu where you could make calls from... no idea what he was talking about because he had a ridiculous scottish accent...

click the call button as if you are to make a call, press the Menu>Options>Call Barring

This is a provider specific thing so it may seem Verizon has it set up .
