Since last night my normal 1XEV signal type goes to 1xev. I've done everything that I can think of to get it to stay 1XEV... A battery pull, turned off data services and turned back on, etc. I called Cellular South and we went through reactivating my BB and that still didn't help. Whenever I reset my BB it comes up with 1XEV for maybe 5 mins and then drops back down 1xev... Ready for the kicker? My data/internet/email all works fine in either mode!! Im not sure if it dropping to 1xev is actually having an affect.. Anyone got any ideas??

Try resending your service books and updating the PRL (dial *22899).

Oh yeah forgot to put that in there.. Already resent service books from the csouth1.blackberry.com website, and updated prl(*228) 4 or 5 times already

Then I would recommend reloading your OS (to the newest if possible). If that doesn't work, then I think the device is defective.

if it is working just fine I would leave it alone.
