I have not been able to get any satellites for the last while. In BB Maps it would sit there searching for satellites, and in Google maps the best it would do was with in 1700m. I just chatted with a tech guy from Bell and he read a note from RIM saying on January 15th there was an update and the GPS in the 8830we has been disabled.
I loaded and said sure to paying 10permonth to run GPS NAV. Now my gps works in BB Maps and Google maps.
Is it possible all it took was to have GPS Nav refresh my GPS? I am wondering if I remove the GPS Nav will Google maps still work.
I can not believe Bell actually screwed all the existing clients by turning off the GPS.

OK part of that was just a rant but if anyone has inside info on whether this is true it would be nice to know.
