I have a stereo headset that when used with my 8830 where audio output comes from only one earphone. I have experienced this issue with a headset that uses a 2.5mm jack as well as when an adapter is used with a headset with a 3.5mm jack.
I think that the 8830 (and other BB's??) may have/use non-standard connectors. Verizon sells an adapter for the 8830 that allowed me to use my noise-cancelling headphones and Shure ear buds with my 8830.
F2 thanks for the help. I did go to Verizon but they were sold out of those adapters. They did have a pair of headphones with a 2.5mm plug. Before I purchased I asked if I could try them. They worked, how about that!!
I do not know why my other known good headphones did not work... Ah well, problem solved!!
