You can download aim from the home page(well atleast the default verizon page has a link right to the download) just select the phone model and good to go. Had it on my 7250 and now my 8830

If anyone still has trouble locating where to download AIM from, go to your browser on your phone or from a PC and go to blackberry (dot) com/AIM

Sorry I had to type that way since I haven't posted 10 times yet to be able to place URL's in post. I have Sprint and thats how I put AIM on my BB.

For verizon, here is what I did. I got Gtalk, free from blackberry and uses the data, not sms. I then linked my other accounts into my Google Talk using a Jabber Transport. No when I fire up google talk I get my Google talk, AIM< and MSN users all in one nice list. OK directions on doing this are found here:
Hack Attack: Chat with AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and other contacts over Google Talk

    Google Talk found here:

Try out JiveTalk. Its not free but its a pretty good app. They have a free 30 day trial and you will probably end up buying it after that.

Jivetalk is my recommendation - all-in-one IM app.

Is there a way to get connected to AIM over a wifi connection for an 8820 on AT&T? I don't currently have a data plan but I was interested in AIM. Thanks all!
