I understand from all the very informative and helpful discussion on this forum that Sprint and Verizon restrict activation of each other's version of the 8830 WE on their respective networks.

However, is it possible to activate the Sprint or Verizon 8830 WE on a CDMA network abroad, assuming the host network will allow it?
    Thanks!

Wrong x2. Ecuador has CDMA. I learned the hard way when I saw the roaming charges on my bill.
