8830 WE replacement lcd..
- Hi-
The company i work for has 8830 WE's, and a few have cracked LCD's. I ordered replacement lcd's from cnn.cn, from the 8800 section, because the LCD listed in there said it fit 8830 as well. I installed the new screen today and it lights up white, but nothing else. i know the phone is working, because i can hear it clicking when i roll the trackball, and i can call the phone, and answer it and its fine. So, i am guessing that the LCD listed does NOT actually work on the 8830 WE....if anyone has any insight into this, i would appreciate it..!
thanks

I have purchased 2 screens both of which had different # and they did not work. ALso everyone says theat the 8300's and the 8800 all use the same screen. Could that be a reason why it does not work ?07-21-09 09:55 AMLike 0
- I just checked a couple of working screens in 8830's I have here and they both say "LCD-11059-001/004 722DP MP" OR "LCD-11059-001/004 802AP MP" on the top. I don't have an 8800 or 8330, specifically, to check, but they are all the same resolution (320x240)... not that that means anything, of corse. Is it possible there is something else wrong with that phone? What does the screen say along the top?07-21-09 03:45 PMLike 0

- Not sure, I was only able to check 2 working ones, and they both start with "LCD-11059-001/004". I don't know the significance of the other numbers. Check the connection though, perhaps it is broken, or the new screen plug isn't seated properly. (Though I'm sure you tried repeatedly.) I would ask the person from whom you purchased the screens. Perhaps they have a better idea, or some kind of exchange policy.07-23-09 03:30 PMLike 0
