Default 4.5 Os

Downloaded 4.5.0.135 from RIM this past Friday and updated a couple phones of our VZW 8830's to test out. I do like the fact that the GPS now works at least on BlackBerry Maps and very is guick to find the birds.

I have found no issues so far. Browser works fine, speaker phone, call timers work fine, no lockups/freezes. I'm going to start updating our devices as soon as VZW officially releases it on their site.

Installed 4.5.0.135 from 4.2 about 2 weeks ago. No probs at all, everything transfered perfectly and so far, aside from needing 1 battery pull all is great. Browser is super fast, no delays, plays everything from youtube, aol media etc. Only thing which I would say is a downside is no call timer, but I've gotten used to it so I don't notice as much anymore. I think I am gonna stick with this and not take any chances for a while.

I can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. I have a 8830 on verizon and I am running 4.2.2.196.
I have DM 4.7 and I downloaded and installed 4.5.0 from the link in this thread. I deleted vendor.xml and I still can’t load the new os. I get a message that says no updates available. I am not a stupid person but I am stuck. Anyone have any suggestions?

ALCON,

I followed the sticky to load the new OS and made sure I deleted the Vendor.XLM file. When I run my device manager it tells me there is no available software/upgrade for my BB...Any help would be apprieciated.

Same "no updates" issue here. vendor.xml file deleted, pro IT guy here, so I'm not seeing the reason for failiure.

VZW 8830 running the 4.5.0.101 OS

I was thinking of downloading this but I haven't had any problems with 4.5.0.135. I think I'm going to stay with it for now.

As cincy says...don't use the DM to load the new OS...use the loader.exe file.

Default Installing new OS on VZW 8830 using Mac OS 10.5?

Have any Verizon subscribers had success installing this new OS using a Mac running OS 10.5? Is there a version of Desktop Manager for this version of the Mac OS? I use PocketMac to sync m 8830 with my Mac but I have not yet had to install/update the OS on my 8830 so I'm totally new to this entire process and could use some help from someone in a position similar to mine.

Default Changes from 135 to 138

Still waiting for solid confirmation of changes between 135 and 138. On a VZW running 135 and have had zero issues.

I'm running 4.2.2.196 still. Am I a little behind the curve or not. I am not having any issues with it, so I am hesitant to update it.
