I just bought my 8830 WE and I installed Desktop Manager. I also downloaded some themes to load in it but where I have the problems is when I try to upload them to my phone. In the Desktop manager right under the ADD button in application loader, it says in the field that The desktop manager doesnt recognize my blackberry device please contact you wireless service provider or system administrator. Can someone help me out so I can get these themes loaded in my phone. Thanks, Paul

Try reinstalling the software. Is it the latest version? Try using a different USB port.

I have reinstalled it with the latest software from blackberry.com and Have tried all 8 ports for USB and still get the same problem. What version do most people use? Also if I can not get this fixed is there a way to get the themes for free through my BB8830 internet

Does your BlackBerry have the latest software installed? If so. Then try using this version of the "desktop manager" found in this thread http://forums.crackberry.com/f2/desk...vailable-7973/

Thanks for the new software, however I am still getting the message in the field saying I do not have the device software. Am I supposed to download the device software for the 8830 seperatley?

On the desktop manager go to "options" then "connection settings" click on detect and see what happens.
