I don't care about using stereo headsets or anything. I just want to hear podcasts through my plantronics bluetooth earpiece. I keep seeing that in OS 4.5 and higher, the option "route audio through bluetooth" or something should be available in the media player, but I don't see it. I'm on 4.5.0.139 on an 8820.

While I'm here, anybody want a StackExchange powered Q&A site about blackberrys? It can't replace general forums but it works really well for a lot of questions like mine.

do you have your device connected to the phone and it set up as a headset?

but I can't select one or the other service the way your screenshot appears to. It's just a list at the bottom of the screen. When the headset first syncs, I get the message

Connection to 520Plantronics succeeded
Handfree <checkmark>
