I have the same problem. Does anyone know what it is and how to stop it from taking up so much space?

How do you find the size of the RMS database. What is stored in the RMS database? Is this like the windows registry (sorry for the windows analogy) i.e. where apps/OS store info?

You find the size from Options>Status>Menu>Database sizes.

Except for the built-in apps, all the applications on your BlackBerry store their data in the RMS (Record Management System) database. Any program that has information or settings that are still available after you quit and start it up again uses this database to store files, etc. The only things not stored here are files that some applications may store on the memory card.

I've never programmed for Blackberry or any mobile devices but I'm starting to dabble in it a bit. From my understanding, ANY persistent data (user settings, logins, etc) are stored here. If you reset the RMS, then you wipe all of your user settings from the phone and will have to redo them. Anything that wasn't hard coded into the application to start with will likely have something stored here unless they specify an external database to store it in.

Now, take the above with a grain of salt. It's my understanding based on trying to learn JavaME and mobile programming which is nowhere near complete.

Is there any way to edit the RMS database to remove different entries (such as information from application that have been removed)?
