I tested this for over 24hrs as is from bb.. I then hybrided it with 4.7 files and gained more memory and faster browser.. IMO, the stock .181 is better than 174. For signal and batt life..but a hybrid is even better!!

Upgraded from .174 to .181 and have it running now for about 48 hours.

I didn't notice better performance in signal but my signal (wifi and gprs) in home is very good. No new icons (or maybe I missed something). I do have the feeling that my 8820 is running a little smoother and I notice a better performance of the battery. No memory leaks and no strange reboots.

Default Google Voice working on .181?

Does anyone else have an issue with logging into Google Voice?

I can run the app ok, but it won't log into my account. The only change I made to the phone was upgrading from 174->181.

Have tried to load this for two days. I am using Desktop 5.0 with windows Vista Home Deluxe. It downloads OK from the site and appears to load. When I open DM and try to update my 8820 I get nada. I use ATT as a carrier but I would think this would make no difference in upgrading the OS. Any help would be appreciated. Could this have to do with Vista?

Couldn't find where on my computer is was at. This is one of the problems as DM couldn't find it either when I went to install. so I guess NO I did not remove the vendor XML files.

I think that's what's going wrong.

Just install the exe.
Go to C:\\program files\Research in Motion\Apploader
(or something like that, don't have a Windows thing near me at the moment).

Delete de Vendor.xml (or drag it into a folder out of the Apploader folder).
Then click the Loader (same folder as the vendor.xml) and there you go. Sit back, watch a movie or whatever and wait till it's done (can take a long time).

have no such file under that directory or any of the others under Research in Motion. Do not even have the Apploader directory you mention. Messed up right.
I looked on the ATT site and they show only .110 available for installation. As far as I can tell this is an unlocked phone. Have had this problem with 2 different computers.
