New 8880.. need help

Got a new 8880 after my 2 month old 8900 got jacked from my car. I wasn't keen on paying Rogers $500 plus to replace the 8900 I got for free. I had upgraded my 8900 to OS 5.0 and I was using DM 5.0 as well. I tried to restore my 8880 using DM5.0 to no avaiI. I actually prefer the keyboard and the solid mass of the 8880 to the 8900. Now I would like to update the OS to 4.5.XXX and also upgrade BBM to 5.0 Is this doable? Do I need to go back to DM 4.6 instead of using DM 5.0? Can anyone walk me through this?

I have an 8800 myself, and I followed the mans advise. I used 4.6 DM.
