Question MP3 attachments to email

I recently hired a receptionist service. The service forwards my voice messages to me as MP3 email attachments. Is there any way of playing the mp3 attachments on my 8820?

put your cursor over the attachement, it does show, correct?

click menu. What options do you get?

Does the file sent to you end in *.mp3?

Default Options for attachment

The attachment is an mp3. When I highlight the attachment and press for menu options, the only options are copy, file, reply, forward, delete and full menu.

there has to be an option to save it so tha you can put it on your media card and play it from there.

My brother's Blackberry 8830 has the same issue. I have sent him multiple e-mails with MP3 attachments, and I spent a long time trying to figure out how to either open them in the e-mail message or save them elsewhere to open them. Does anyone know how to do this or if it is even possible?

I am also having this problem. The only option I get is to "retrieve" the file which seems to do nothing. This is not the case with ALL mp3 files though it seems as I have been able to download and install as ringtones, I just don;t know what makes the difference.

Same problem here.

BB 8830
The email client on the device doesn't give me an option to save it (only retrieve). even the gmail clint can't open it.

I can open a link to the mp3 file online and grab via http though.

Sounds like there may be some kind of bug? Or need to change something in settings?

I've tested this on several different BB 8310 devices .. none of them can open an mp3 file attachment in an email. If I send myself a hyperlink to an mp3 file and Save it to the SD memory card then I can play it by loading the media player application. But if I send that same file as an email .. I get the error message "unrecognized document format"

Yes, on my 8820, I can highlight and attempt to open an mp3 attachment, but then get this error as well.

It is NOT do-able. I have same issue exactly - voicemail as mp3 attachment. There is a program called Audiopop which will do this for you. But I can't get it configured to work despite awesome assistance from the developer. I think I am having a Rogers TCP issue. There is a trial though.
