Default Looking for 8820 OS

I have a NOS 8820; AT&T branded; came with OS v4.2.2.169...

I plan on using this as an emergency phone (have unactivated SIM card loaded) and as a thumbdrive for downloading files to from my local library PC (I'm on a dial-up here and can't get large files)...

I'd like to get the OS with the best battery life and the largest memory card support...

Anybody have any suggestions???

Thank You!!!

Thanks for your reply, mitch!

I was hoping that a BB 8820 user with hands-on experience of the various 8820 OS's could comment on which OS gave the best battery life...

Have you tried the ones posted in the stickies??? Which do you prefer???

I'd like to go to the 4.5 OS, and move up to a 8GB memory card...

TIA!

No prob. I use 4.5.0.187. The battery life is descent, I get a full day and a half listening to the mp3 and surfing. If I only check email and do light surfing I can get 2 full days. Plus my battery is a little old, i just ordered a new one on ebay, Good luck.
