Just enter the incorrect password x10 times and your Blackberry will be wiped. Your personal data will be gone, but you can then enter a new password and start again.

When you say your personal data will be wiped - does this include the address book? My BB 8800 is new - to me - it was used by some-one else before.

Yes, your address book would be wiped. Only telephone numbers that you might have stored on your SIM card would remain

Hi, does this apply to the Curve 8320 also? I too forgot my password and have 8 attempts left. I am not registered with BES, so I dont want to make any vital mistake and lock out my phone. PLEASE HELP...

It's done! The only way to recover data is if you backed it up and restored it.

If you haven't done that, then enjoy the countdown.

So I am new to all this and sure my question is answered above but I just want to double check. I just bought an 8820 unlocked on-line and the phone is locked and wants a password. I can just go through that 10 times and I will be fine. There is none of my contact info in it so I have nothing to worry about right?

i there I red all your answers about BB and if you want to go aver the password after you enter for 10 times.......now my question is and i know is a fact ...I know that from when i used to live Europe....is a software....and when you connect the BB to you PC through the USB cable you can go over the password in to your phone....
does anybody has that......or like a universal cod from manufactor that will show you the password...????
thanks.
