Flash Codes

Hey has anyone ever seen and kno what this flash code means? I've got a user's 8820/OS=4.5 that will not boot up, LED flashes red 4 times, the off for 4 seconds, the flashes red 4 time. The pattern continuously repeats. I have try cycling the power, used a known good battery. All the info i get from the user's ITS is that the device "just stopped working". I'm sure there is missing info, but that’s all i've got to go on. My guess it’s a hardware problem instead of a software problem. Does anyone know for sure?
