error message on selected websites

recently when trying to access various websites that where previously bookmarked i get the following error message: the content on the page you tried to access is not supported by your phone. which is curious because as i said i had previously accessed these sites.
i have wiped handheld and restored data from my backup but with the same results. this is aggravating. can anyone help? by the way the local att store is useless!
