Button functionality swapped. Buttons perform actions of other buttons

Hey, It just started yesterday and it's hard to know exactly what to search for and i couldn't find anything that was like my problem.

Suddenly, pushing the trackball button changed to uo. Pushing the trackball would type "uo".

pushing the back button types "hl"

pushing the sym button types "b"

pushing 0 types "y".

This is all that i know of the key swap. I will add that the phone was freezing just before this started happening.

Taking the battery out for a while did nothing.

I imagine updating the software would fix it but i'd rather not. It's just that all my usb cables i have don't let the computer recognize the phone properly. Not sure why.

Does anyone have any advice?

Sounds like some sort of internal damage, whenever I go in a moist environment with my 8820 it does almost the exact same thing.

is there anyway to fix it? or temporarily while in a dry environment

It's FIXED!!!! :-) it just decided to work.

Be prepared to buy a new phone in the future, also try to avoid moisture in the meantime.

So basically the phone takes turns with working and not working. doesn't matter if its in a moist environment or not. It just seems kind of random. We'll see if the avg time of brokenness reduces over the next week.
