Default Blackberry Curve 8310 & Data Plans

Is there a way to use my Blackberry Curve without having the data plan? This thing that ticks me off the most is that this "forced plan" is if your phone was put on your plan after Nov 2009. We had this Blackberry on our account for a year, then my daughter got something else and now that it's junk she wants to go back to the BB...BUT they say I have to pay for the data plan even though it's been our phone for 18 months!

If you put your sim card in, it should work for phone calls and sms. Mms is another story. My wife had her bb on tmo without data for a year, but they have a thing called bb feature enabler that they had to set up to send and receive mms. Check on your carriers website to see if they have something like this.
