blackberry 8800 wont turn on help please

i got a blackberry 8800 today, i went and bought a brand new battery as it didnt come with one, when i inserted the battery a red light came on for about 6 seconds and then went off so i tryed to power on and it wouldnt so i thought the battery needed charging, so i charged it until the green light came on then disconnected the charger and tryed to power on again but no it was dead no led or anything except when i insert the battery or charger their is also nothing displayed on the screen it dosent even light up nor does the trackball. ive tryed all the solutions i could find on the internet such as battery pulls,os reinstalls everything with no luck.

any help in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
