I just sold my 8700 on ebay for about 40 bucks and it had some wear on there. Couldn't hurt to take a pic and post up and see if anyone want's to buy it.

I would put it for sale, you may make someones day. Plenty of people love the 87xx series and would pay 50 to have one back.

Unless you plan to use it for a spare or a backup, it doesn't hurt to post it up and see if there is any interest.
