Restoring a Bold 9650 backup to an old 8703

OK, I have a unique situation. I recently lost my Bold 9650, but I have a recent backup of all of my information.

I have an old 8703 that I activated while I am waiting to determine which new phone I want to buy. When I tried to restore the backup from the 9650 to the 8703, the address book and many other entries were grayed out. Is there any way to "backwards" restore data from a back-up file to an older device?

If not, is there any want to access the content in the backup file visually on my computer so I can at least see phone numbers for contacts?

If your 9650 was running OS6 you may have compatibility issues going back to an OS4 phone.

I had the same problems using a Torch and then going back to an old 9000.

You might have to restore the data to a phone that has BB OS6 then sync the contacts to Outlook.
