Default Blackberry wont turn on

Hey
I charge my bb from a usb cable because my wall charger does not work. Lat night I put it on charging and when i woke up this morning, my bb was completely shut down. The power button wouldn't switch it. The red light does come on when i plug it to the usb cable but the phone does not switch on.

Can someone please tell me what to do?

I just had that issue myself. I put a new OEM battery (from Amazon) in one of the 8700s and it showed a battery with line through it.
I then put the battery in the 8330 and it charged OK. After a few minutes, I put it back in the 8700 and it charged just fine. The charge on the new battery was just a little too low for the 8700 to initialize with. The battery charged, and works OK in both phones. Hope this helps.

Exclamation funny thing

I think I found the answer. For me, it was the C-S2 battery...however, I found that if you look at the battery model #, the newer ones ending in 004 are for the newer curve models (8500 series etc.), and the models ending in 003 are meant for say the 8300 series. This is just my personal experience as I have 3 of each style sitting in front of me. The 3 ending in 003 work in my 8300, the 3 ending in 004 give me the battery icon with the red line through it (like the no smoking sign).
I believe this is because the newer battery may have circuitry in it that the older phone does not recognize. These batteries are the exact same size, dimensions, etc. And I have tried this also with a curve 8330 with the exact same results.
I believe the retailers know this, and that is why they charge so much.

You can also tell the difference inbetween the two batteries by the image on the front of the battery. It is different.

Haha, i can't believe this worked! Cheers backseatsurfer! I've had the steady red LED, the battery with blue flash, battery with red line, tried removing the SD card, leaving it plugged into the wall for hours, removing the battery while plugged in, dropping it, slapping it hard - Nada. But nearly breaking it across my knee - the ONLY thing that's worked. When in doubt, give it a clout ;-)

It will jar the battery into place. Do it on carpet but not carpet that's too soft. Trust me - it's gonna work after you knock it around a bit.
I tried it on a pillow because there was no carpet there, and after 3 tries, it worked! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
