| | My Blackberry wont turn on! Battery with red line across only on screen
My blackberry doesnt turn on, it did work, but what happens is when i go to put the blackberry on charge it turns off and goes to a screen with a battery and a red line through it!,
The battery is new!, and if a fiddle around with the batter it sometimes works, i think there is a bad connection between the battery and the deivise
But any one think it is another promblem and how to fix?
Thanks

So if you plug your device into the wall, does it seem to charge? If not, take it back to the shop, get it replaced...

What do you mean, "it works untill you go to charge"? As soon as you connect ANY BlackBerry to a USB cable, and plug it into the wall, it automatically starts to charge. It's not something that you turn on.
So, I don't get it...
Have you tried to connect it to a PC, is it the same issue? Nonetheless, sounds like a hardware issue. I say contact the carrier.

Seems like the battery is working just the charger won't charge that type of battery or the battery won't let that charger charge it

Quick, sell it to me for $50....
J/K this has happened to me, but only after allowing the battery to go completely dead. A couple battery pulls while connected to the charger usually clears it up for mine.

That symbol you are referring to means the phone does not think there is a battery inside of it. Thus, the battery is not connecting well enough when you stick it in - so the phone is not recognizing it. What do you do? Drop the phone on the ground screen side up from about 3 feet off the floor. It will jar the battery into place. Do it on carpet but not carpet that's too soft. Trust me - it's gonna work after you knock it around a bit.

I tried your suggestion and it worked. I couldn't believe it. Actually my husband did it because I was scared to break my phone. He did it on the basement floor on carpet of course. He had to do it a couple of times before it actually stayed on so far so good!! Thanks for the suggestion

I just had that same thing happen to me last night! My nephew dropped my phone and that screen with the battery and a red line going through it showed up. I tried charging through the night- no luck.
If you have a microSD card in your phone, take it out then try turning it back on! Once you have, allow your bb to charge till 100% then re enter the SD card... I hope it helps!

i had to take apart the back housing of my phone. pull the prongs for the battery out further to be able to make a better connection with the main board. works.

Amazingly doing the weird stuff mentioned in this thread worked for me.
Why oh why BlackBerries react so awfully to being completely drained of power is beyond me. What a terrible flaw in such an otherwise well made device.
I have to mention that taking out my microSD card seemed to help a TON. I tried all the stuff mentioned in this thread without having removed the microSD card, and nothing worked until it was removed. Bottom line, TAKE OUT YOUR microSD card.
I used the "remove the battery while it's plugged in, then make sure the red light is on, replace the battery and hit the power button." Voila - out of nowhere it came back to life, good as new. Battery was completely drained when the OS came back up even though I had let it sit for a few hours. So I guess that whole time it wasn't charging at all? Weird. All's well that ends well.
Good luck folks.
EDIT: I also didn't let it charge to 100% because I didn't have time for all that. Let it charge to about 2/3 and have been out the past few hours and its fine. Good luck.

try to just change the battery first. I already saw this issue fixed doing that.
