I just picked up my new 2009 BMW 323i and my BB8703e cannot hold the connectivity with the bluetooth car kit. I can pair the devices, they initially connect and then I get a message on the screen of my BB that says:
    "uncaught exception: java.lang.classcast exception"

This also freezes/hangs my "Set up Bluetooth" screen in my BB with the BMW paired device. The screen just shows "Searching for devices..." with a STOP button but cannot do anything to remove this from the screen. I can get out of this icon and use the other parts of the phone, but when I go back to it, it still shows itself searching for paired devices! I have to do a hard reset by taking the battery out of the phone to remove it.

HELP! I went on BMW site and my model of BB should be compatible so not sure what is going on...

    HELP !!!!!

Could it be because the 8700 series has bluetooth 1.2 and not 2.0?

If you upgraded to OS 4.5, it seems to have ruined Bluetooth for the 8703e. Right now I cannot pair my 8703e with my 2008 Infiniti FX35 hands-free phone system, but I could with OS 4.2. My Infiniti use Bluetooth 2.1, but it is backwards compatible with Bluetooth 1.2

sprint store reloaded with software (put in a newer version) and it works. be sure to sync and save before you do this. good luck.
