How to accept the group request in BB8707g?

I am using Bold 9000 and have created group and sent group request to everyone that I wanted to be in the group. Most of us using Bold 9000 and 9700 except one is using 8707g. He could not accpet the group request but he got a request in email but not to his BB. Can anyone please advise?

Note: he can accpet the contact request with no problem.

He's most likely on an older version of BBM. He needs to be on the new release, 5.0.0.57.
