Default Flashing a 8700c (cingular) to work on t-mobile

Is This possible? I DLed the t mobile 8700 firmware but I just get a fatal error when i try to update the software.

Is the device unlocked? It will only accept AT&T SIM cards unless it is unlocked.

You'll need to unlock the device and get the TMobile service books.

I got the unlock code from att
i found the service books
but now im getting jvm 547
i tried taking the battery out and starting to update when the pin is unkown
but i keep getting jvm error 547 and a fatal error



any help?

547 is a write failure. Could be the result of a bad file in the OS being installed, or a hardware falure on the phone. Try uninstalling the OS, and downloading a fresh copy to install, through Internet Explorer. Hopefully it's software.

Im back to my original cingular OS,
do i need to remove the it policy or the vendor xml, i vaguely remember doing this stuff when i updated it to play mp3s as ringers

where should i go from here?
i have an 8700c which is now unlocked
the t mobile 8700 OS
the t mobile service books
and a t mobile sim

You do need to delete the vendor.xml file. The service books are part of your backup database, not the OS. You may need to selectively restore them and your TCP settings.
