8700r ringtone problem

I am a first time owner of a blackberry 8700r. Bought it used so no manual with it. Even with looking at online manual still can't figure out how to make it so it will ring. If I put it on loud it only vibrates downloaded a ringtone from crackberry and want it to be working when call or text comes in. Anyone have an answer to why i'm having trouble, (other then the obvious that i"m blackberry challenged) Thanks
