8700c from Bold...Issues

Just got a used 8700c off eBay.

Didn't come with BBM, so I downloaded it off the web.

It sends text messages successfully, but won't let me make calls.

It says only Emergency Calls allowed. I am also pretty sure it is not receiving text messages.

Please help

Either your SIM is not authorized for the available phone networks (no signal on the home network and no roaming), or it has permissions issues (service suspended, not correctly configured, etc)

Or service is barred because the IMEI is on the lost/stolen list.

Even if I was able to send a text message, and access the internet?
