i got mine from utorrent.com and it is the prerelease that was posted but got taken down . takes a while to first load but it has made my 8700r feel like a new berry . the best upgrade i have done . i was running 4.2 but just some many little things that make 4.5 the one to have plus it is the LAST upgrade for the 87xx .

Yeah the 4.5 beta for the 8700 was well worth the upgrade. Now with the 2.5 bis upgrade I have full html email on this "old" phone. Thing feels new again. Has actually put me off upgrading for the time being. Recomended for anyone with this phone.

Which version of 4.5 are you running? I have not seen anything about a .46 for the 8700. I am still on 4.2, and would love to upgrade to 4.5 at some point, but I was curious whether there has been anything since .37 (which I was a bit late to the party to find).

I got 4.5.0.37 for the 8700 and it is indeed beautiful for this device. You can't do much media-wise on it, but still, a great upgrade for the old gangsta!!

    Hi All,

I just did some hunting on Google and came up with a link for the 8700f. It was posted on a couple other sites that they have used this on the 8700c. Does anyone know if this will work on the 8700c?

Well I have completed the update to 4.5. There were a few complications but nothing too serious. The worst thing was upgrading the desktop manager. It was being a little ignorant but computers are like that. I would strongly suggest upgrading. There are some nice new features

From what I can tell they have just made it a little prettier. There are some new options on how to display messages and the address book. The main feature that I liked the best was the integration of a spell check. That made it worth the upgrade to me.

You have to uninstall ALL your previous BlackBerry software before you can do the update to 4.5. Seeing that 4.5 does not come with BBDM 5, I can see this as being your issue.
