unlocked 7130c- data connection refused-help!

Bought an unlocked 7130c at J R at Maceys Manhattan, live in Ireland and can call and receive calls and receive texts, but cannot send text,tells me data connection refused- can anyone help?

baffled by the idea of data connection refused...

i just bought a 7130c brand new... or so they said, anyway; Data connection refused is a constant annoyance at the top of the screen. i can text and place phone calls no problem even with that refusal. Guessing it has something to do with enterprise activation and not having a blackberry plan.

i just installed 4.2.xxx which is an upgrade i love it, you should look into it.

fixed a lot of problems.

Data connection refused regards the RIM data plan, I think.

This means you are not on a contract and cannot use Blackberry push services such as Blackberry browser/email.

However, it should still work for vanilla smartphone. You should be able to send sms, use the Opera web browser, vanilla email etc.

So I don't know why you cannot send sms but I'm sure its not because data connection refused.
