OS 4.2.1.154/4.2.1.96 for 7130g/c (GSM only)

Instructions for installing:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed. It's 4.2 SP2.
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded. (Choose the 7130c)
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.

Have some patience, this will take 30-60 minutes to complete. DO NOT unplug the device until it is finished!

Follow this thread if you want to unlock all vendor themes.

DO you need to do this if you want to add themes? I have addded a couple to my 7100i, I have 4.1, I did the hard reset, changed the permissions to allow, am using 4.2 SP2 desktop, etc. and can't see the themes on the phone other than in applications. Plazmic read is installed. What am I doing wrong?

Yeah will this work to get themes to activate on my 7130c ? i can d/l themes but never an option to activate.

Worked on my 7130e. I had the glass themes and it didnt work with 4.1 but once i put 4.2 it worked great. Also I am now able to load ringtones and wallpaper from the desktop manager media manager.

Okay, so I have a question about the 7130e. I know it is CDMA and not GSM but figured this is the best place to ask it. I am on UsCellular, who has not decided to make the 4.2 upgrade available to their customers yet. Is there a danger of downloading another CDMA upgrade, like the one through Verizon or Alltell.

I know that unlocked verizon and alltell phones will work on USCellular. I would think the OS of the phone would not mess with the functionality of the phone network, but does anyone know this for a fact?

I have a 7130g with 4.1 OS.My phone is locked on Orange Romania.I want to transfer mp3 & photos from my PC with UBS but I didn't succeed.You guys say that is I upgrade to 4.2 it will work.Right now I'm downloading 7130cM_PBr4.2.1_rel154_PL2.3.0.78_A4.2.1.96_AT&T.I have Desktop Manager 4.3.What happens if I upgrade my OS to 4.2?it will work like before if my BB is loked on Orange? can there be broblems? Orange told my if I do upgrades I'll lose my guarantee.Thanx a lot

I'm a newborn as far as CrackBerry is concerned, though not necessarily new to my bb. Have had it for over a year and a half. Can't believe I didn't find this site earlier. But then I've really only been using the bb as my electronic leash until recently...

So if I'm reading you right, you have a 7130e with Verizon? Do you use it with a corporate Blackberry Enterprise Server or are you using it with Internet Email? I am interested in upgrading mine from 4.1 as well, but wasn't sure how that would affect my service with Verizon (since I didnt find options on Verizon's site to download anything newer than 4.1 for this bb) and with the company enterprise server. If you, or anyone else, can tell me the've done the same with a Verizon 7130e using Enterprise Server with their MS Exchange account, I'm ready to take the plunge.

hi guys, I am newbie here & just wanted to say a big thank you. I was succesfully able to install the latest device manager version into my 7130g & now I can enjoy transferring mp3 & images into my BB, thanks again guys, it really works !!!
