New BB user

Greetings forum.
I've allways been a Nokia User, and I still own a Nokia E63 for business and personal use.
A friend of mine is oing to give me a Blackberry 7100v.
I never used a Blackberry and I plan to convert myself into BB world.
My question is, can I use Blackberry Messenger on this phone, and be able to talk with people with newer Blackberries?

try downloading bbm to it, if it works you should be able to talk to anyone that ahs bbm no matter what bb they have.

Im happy that I have the newest phone, but after using one before getting this device, I think that your phone is essentially the same thing, which is a huge plus!
